This focal length should work well on a full-frame camera, with the optical stabilisation being a good addition for those photographers who do own the Sony Alpha 7 II, which is the only camera in the range with sensor based image stabilisation. Sony previously listed a macro lens on their roadmaps, and the mock-up reveals that the lens will be a Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS lens. Prototypes of these lenses are also on show, however, it isn’t clear which lens, or lenses, the adapter will be compatible with, though it is fairly safe to assume it will probably be the 28mm f/2.Īnother gap in the FE lens range is its lack of macro lens. However, those who want to go even wider will also have the choice of a wideangle or fisheye adapter. Sony has shown a wideangle lens on its roadmaps for a while, but finally we know that this lens will be an FE 28mm f/2 lens. Since the launch of the Alpha 7 range, photographers have been asking for a wide-angle lens.
